Probably the 4th nicest day of our entire summer found Britt, my friend and student, floating down the Kenai River to the
haul out on the Upper Skilak Lake. We started dock side at the Alaska Rivers Company, passed Kenai River ferry, Jim's Landing
and down to the gates of the canyon and eventually down to Skilak Lake, where we had a brief stop to stretch our legs and enjoy
a nice lunch provided by ARC.
Then back on the rafts as we then motored roughly 5 miles to the haul out area on
Upper Skilak Lake.
Magnificent scenery, and who could resist Jasper our navigator, a great little land shark that belongs to Eric our oarsman.
If anyone asks I will tell them beyond a doubt Eric is the best oarsman on the river. Not only that but next week I go fishing
with him down there and I already know that rain or shine it will be another great day!
All in all if you had to spend the last great day of summer, this was the way to do it.
Tern Lake was beautiful this morning!
