2015 A ZSI CAMP
Zoo Scene Investigators Day at the Alaska Zoo is an ExxonMobil sponsored event for 7th and 8th graders to use their investigative skills to engage more with science and math that the students are learning in the classroom, with first-hand investigations outdoor at the Alaska Zoo. This year, over 100 students and adult chaperones from Mears Middle School utilized their observation and investigative approaches to focus on adaptations that allow animals to survive in the Arctic. Students learned about the animals through the use of event journals, hands-on activities and visits with zoo animals. The Alaska Zoo is proud to partner with ExxonMobil and the Anchorage School District to provide this unique opportunity for these students in our community.
